Driving Test
Please Note This Change in Tennessee Law:
For students 15 years and 6 months of age (or older), who have successfully completed the Driver's Ed course and hold a valid TN Learner's Permit, the Tennessee state road test (driving portion of the driver's license test) may be administered by Goodlettsville Driver Training (GDT). Students desiring to take the GDT administered state road test are required to take an additional 1 hour of driving instruction at the additional cost of $30. After the 6 hours of driving instruction, the instructor will notify the student whether they possess the skills necessary to successfully pass the road test. The parent may then schedule an appointment with GDT for the road test. Passing the road test is not guaranteed. Be advised that the DMV reserves the right to retest any applicant.
